The Brain That Wouldn't Die! In 3D!!! is a whimsical twist on the 1961 cult classic sci-fi film. The cast of characters includes a mad scientist and his decapitated fiancee, whom he keeps alive in a baking pan filled with his new untested miracle drug called Adreno-Serum. Add a Monster in the Closet, a one-armed lab assistant, and a model with "a body to die for" and you have the formula for one dangerous evening of entertainment.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is often referred to as "the Sundance Festival of Musical Theatre". Each year, it puts new shows in front of producers and investors who can take the show to the next level. Altar Boyz and Next to Normal are just two of the shows that premiered at NYMF in the past years and have gone on to great critical and commercial success.

History & Future
Tom Sivak and Elizabeth Gelman have been working on The Brain That Wouldn't Die! In 3D!!! for over two years. In 2010, a staged reading was presented to a small invited audience at City Lit Theatre. In July 2011, a staged reading was presented in conjunction with Porchlight Music Theatre at Chicago's Greenhouse Theater Center. The audience of 150 people responded with overwhelming enthusiasm.
For NYMF, the authors have been joined by a top-notch creative team and have been lucky enough
to attract the interest of Broadway veterans!

Next Link Project authors co-produce their shows in conjunction with NYMF. As a substantial investment in our work, the festival provides theater space to us at no cost, along with technical support, box office staff, advertising, and industry outreach. It is our responsibility to pay the actors, musicians, creative and production team, and to cover the costs of the set, costumes, and musical arrangements. Our portion of the production costs will be approximately $50,000.
